WHat do these mean?

SO should I just unplug it and see how things work?

or should I just go ahead and replace the thing?

I found this on the board. It seems everyone has the same problems, and by now all the answers are already availiable!!! Thanks guys for providing feedback on these issues. Im saving time and money. Glad I joined this board.

I've never seen a dirty maf sensor throw codes before but it's worth a try to clean it, since it's free and all. If that doesn't work, unplug the maf and see if it runs better than it is right now. If it runs better with the maf unplugged, then it's time to replace it.

I unplugged it and its gving me the same problems, but a little better I guess. How long can I ride with it unplugged, I can't replace it till Friday. But should I get some Mercon V??

Don't drive around with it unplugged, it screws the air/fuel mixture up. Just get the sensor replaced as soon as you can.

Did you try cleaning it? I never heard of it being dirty enought ot throw codes either, but it's cheap.

I cleaned it and it didn't work, I then went to the junkyard and got one outta a 94 T Bird. The light went off and everything works fine now. I do get the occasional shudder every once in a while. Like when the engine overloads. Like if I roll up the windows and crank the heat and have the radio up then mess with the power seat. What could be the cause of this?

uuuh, you're draining the battery and the alternator can't keep up. don't do that anymore.

Thomas,

with a 95, doesn't he have the biggest OEM alternator Ford put on the these cars? Maybe he should have the alternator checked for bearings problems and to see if it is functioning properly.

The Parts Bin Special is DEAD! It is being parted out.

95 sc's had the highest output alternator of the mn12's. 130amp I believe. It could be the regulator on the back of the alternator.

does anybody have a alternator replacement wakl through. I got a new one, and need help getting it in.

It's really easy actually.


1. Disconnect battery.

2. Find the tensioner pulley down in the lower passenger side of the engine, then put a wrench or ratchet on it (I believe it's 18mm but not possitive) and pull up on it reeeeeally hard, then unstrap the belt.

3. Then unbolt the 2-3 bolts (can't remember how many) holding the alternator on

4. disconnect the wiring

5. reverse instructions for putting in the new one.

i got to step 4 i think, i took out 2 bolts so far, and the alternator is loose but is held by some bolt i on the bottom. i took the long one out, and i can't pull it off. also about the wiring i took off the first 2 little ones, but the big black and yellow wire is not coming off, and i don't want to strip the rubber around it.
