strange idle

someone help me out, maybe its happening to them, too?

my car starts fine. when i drive it, it tends to wanna accellerate on its own. itll hit 50mph without me hitting the gas! very annoying. i have a 3.8. i dont have a maf on my car. what could it be?

i JUST replaced the fuel filter, pcv valve.

i sometimes hear a hissing sound. vacuum leak?

due to low fundage, i cant replace my spark plugs, wires, dis. cap. at the moment. i was also thinking of trying those fuel injector cleaners ever tank to see if it'll work... someone help me out tell me what i could do to get my idle low!

Check for a leak at the throttle body gasket or maybe the intake manifold gasket. It could be sucking in air from behind the throttle.

accelerating without hitting the gas would be something at or after the throttle body like perch said. Or possibly, your TPS could need replacing. But it deffinetely sounds like what perch described. See if you can pinpoint the hissing sound.
