Question 93 3.8 dip stick tube

My brother has a 93 3.8 with 94K on the clock. He went to check the oil and the dip stick tube fell off? WTF? Is this something common or has anyone else had this happen? Thanks.

the tube is supposed to be bolted onto one of the studs on the exhaust manifold, and then it sticks into the oil pan with an o-ring around it to seal.

It is common for the mount to break. Both of mine have. I welded the crap out of my last one so I doubt it's going to break for a long time.
