Fuel Injectors

thomas, i know your out there. i could use some advice. would i have to re-program my computer if i went with some 24lb fuel injectors?

ok, i also have another problem. i bought a b&m electronic shifter improver and it made my shifting worse. so i unhooked it and disconnected the battery, and my transmission is now ****ing up bad. i cant get any decent acceleration, and it sputters. has anyone else had this problem? and does anyone know how to fix it now?

Yep, you'll have to get a chip if you want to run 24lb injectors in place of the stock 14lb'ers. Why are you wanting to run 24lb. injectors?

Just like Rod said, you'll need to get a chip. I'd get one from Pete at Fordchip (fordchip.com). But you really shouldnt need larger injectors unless you've gotten everything ported and have a cam. The 14's will provide enough power for bolt-ons and a few ported things.

As for the baumann shifter improver, BAD IDEA. I hate those things, they are a dumb idea and bad for your transmission, especially a 94 transmission that is weak to start with. No acceleration sounds like your converter could be slipping now. Pull out the tranny dipstick and see what the fluid looks like. Should be a bright transparent red. Also, smell it to see if it has a burning odor.

yeah, it just like putters and doesn't go when i push on the gas. i gotta push the gas just barely and like 5 seconds later it starts to go. and it still putters when i try to push the gas, and once i'm going i try to punch it, and i go nowhere. i have a lifetime warrenty on my transmission, but those f**kers are going to pay. this is bullsh*t.

have you checked the tranny fluid? Does the motor rev as you push the gas and it does nothing?

yes, it does rev and do nothing for a couple of seconds, and i hear a like click click clicking. after a second or two it takes off. im going to check my fluid tonight before i go out (my roomate is driving!). any advice you could offer would be awesome. I do have a lifetime warrenty on the trans, but i have to pay to have it installed. and i was like 2 weeks away from doing a bunch of mods. so this really really blows. i'm going to try to get b&m to pay for this ****.

just start the car and leave it in park while checking the fluid.

If you have a few friends who are into cars, you could put the tranny in yourself. I'd never even touched a transmission before I bought my 95 and I got a tranny swap done in a few days.

We did mine in about 8-9 hours Even if you weren't there the entire time

Yeah - just get a few friends rounded up and a good place to do it and allow yourself an extra day just in case. It wasn't as hard as I was expecting - just really time consuming. And when checking the fluid, give the car a chance to warm up first.

Hey, not to mention welding spots the exhaust shop did sloppily and polishing up that nice shiney intake tube of yours Oh, and cleaning up dif fluid, bending a bracket for your cable. Yeah it was a pretty good time for all of that stuff.

I forgot about cleaning the diff fluid too... I wonder if he ever got that smell out of the trunk??

And the exhaust - I'm re-doing the front half in the spring and will probably have the whole thing re-done if it won't cost me an arm and a leg. I saw how another was done on an SC last week and really liked how it was done. And since I need to re-do the front half, why not just have the whole thing rehung.
