Flushing cooling system completely.

How do I COMPLETELY flush the cooling system on an '89 Cougar with a 3.8L engine?? I need to get ALL of the antifreeze out of the system including what resides in the engine/heads when the car is sitting.

Thanks for any suggestions...

yeah, I saw the sticky thread...

But, does that actually remove all the coolant from inside the engine also?? I was under the impression this would just get MOST of it. Does doing this also flush the block and cylinder heads?

Sticky Thread....

Follow the sticky thread on top...Yes this gets all your coolant out (that's why i tell you to wait till the car has been sitting overnight)....If you want to flush the system...(I assume your talking about the liquid that you put in your colling sytem that cleans everything)...Then you need to buy the liquid cooling sytem flush to put in your rad. However, flushing is not necessary at all.....All you need to do is just put a hose throught the top of the rad and let the water flow with the drain cock open. and you can detach and clean your reservoir from the inside.....Other than that you don't have much to clean....Coolant is clean to begin with...and there shouldn't be anything to clean from your cooling system...Basically it's the rad you need to keep clean...so just run fresh clean water through it. and follow my procedure on the sticky thread to refill.
