3.8 oil pressure

im thinking about buying this tbird but the oil pressure is odd the guy says. he said that when he starts it that the pressure is fine but when he drives it thats when it drops. could be the sending unit or the pump. any idea and do you think i could drive it a few hundred miles it this isnt bad.

Well, the only thing I can offer you is that my 'bird did the same thing. Pressure is fine on engine start, but drops like a rock while driving, all the way to 0. And it bounced up and down and basically did whatever.

Turned out to be the sending unit.

If you're NOT absolutely sure it's the sending unit, don't drive the car. If it is the pump, then you're liable to do serious damage to the engine if you do drive it. And if you take the chance, it might just blow something, and it'll be too late for you to stop. The damage will have been done
