throttle body coolant

I just noticed that on the 3.8 there is a coolant line running off of the water pump and into my throttle body, now is this just me or is this design just plain stupid. Doesn't the coolant make the cool air coming in warmer, is there a way that i can just bypass the throtte body, has anyone done this before?

gm uses this a lot too on their v6 and v8 camaros, from what i was told it meant for car in colder weather to help keep the tb warm, from what i was told at least....
two of my friends with camaros actually bypassed this...
but of course i'm not saying to do this, just sharing my story...

there shouldnt be any coolant running into your throttle body. It should run underneath the intake to the back.
