smellin gas

well after i start my car at anytime, whether its cold or warm, i can smell gas after it starts, then it goes away. It also takes about 5-7 seconds for my car to crank over. I have no clue whats wrong, but i am getting pretty good gas mileage (175 miles on a half a tank around town) and thats good for me, but in worried about this problem.

Start looking for leaks. Check the fuel rail connections, check the connections at the fuel filter (under the passenger side door), look over the lines, look for any wet spots on the tank, etc.

it doesnt smell at any other time, just when you start it.

smellin gas

Dude had the same problem with my 92 supercoupe and 94 lx. Check where the fuel lines go into the gas tank. Had both cars down at the same time at the same dealership. Its a flaw in the design of the lines. The problem has been corrected with a new design from Ford. Hope this helps.
