85 3.8 Questions

Where is the MAP, IAT and Coolant Temp Sensor located on this thing? I've got a 85 3.8 that has an intermitant stalling issue after the car is up to normal operating temp.

It also recently failed a smog exam with NO emissions of 3000+ ppm

My first thought there is cats because the car is definitely running rich and has a definite gasoline smell to the exhaust.

Should I be trying to run down a vacuum leak? I don't /hear/ one with the car running, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Already up for replacement or closer inspection are the: Cap and rotor, spark plugs, wires and fuel filter. There was a pinkish rust-like coating on the plugs which Beau tells me is indicative of alot of fuel additives. So the plugs and fuel filter are gone. Period.

Any other advice/testing proceedures would be grand. Thanks again.

Yup check for vacuum leaks. Have your O2's checked as well.

Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on dinner. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.
