stop the ping

i have a 92 coug v6 that loves to ping i had the timing checked and it is supposedly ok.i noticed that when i put the in line spout connector back on the car seems to ping more so than if it is not there, 220 000 kms lots of new parts seems to be worse when the engine is at operating temp. any ideas?

Start with the easiest thing to check first. Pull out a spark plug on each side. Then look at your pistons. They are probably pretty gunked up! If so the heads will be too. There are many things that will cause this pinging. Tell us what you find and Ill give you some more things to check if this isnt the culprit.
