Need Ideas For My 89 t-bird

I have a 3.8l in my 89 t-bird, but i want a lot more than 2?? horses i want more does anyone have any isea at which engine i could use that is fast and has alot of torq. I like to street race with cars but i would like it even more if i had more horses for it. Plus i think its time to replace the engine anyway. But i do have another idea should i just go with the 4.2 or keep the 3.8 and upgrade it too its fullest. What i am trying to look for is an engine that could beat the 4.6 - 5.0. Thanks

I think after the 4.2 swap a Vortech plumb in is the next step. Then you will eat V-8's like mad.
