brake fuse??

Ok, my 96 3.8l would not start the other day becuase the batt was drained and yhe terminals were dirty. There was no room in my garage to clean it so I turned the key ino acc. and put it in neutral and pushed it out maybe 5 feet, returned it to park and took the key out. I disconected the battery and cleaned the terminals and jump started it with another car. I let it charge for a bit and now the car starts fine. The problem is that after I start the engine I cannot get it out of park. I've been driving he car for a long time and I've noticed that once you depress the brake pedal you feel a slight click and thats when you can take the car out of park. Also, the bulbs are fine but when I press the brake pedal, the brake lights do not come on. I've checked the fuses under the seering wheel and the fuse box under the hood. Had anyone ever had this problem or know whats wrong? Is there some kind of brake fuse or soemthing located somewhere else? Thanks in advance -mike
