confirming an egr question

this is a temporary fix so i can drive my bird from my house to a storage facility. recently i sold my exhaust to steve, and i need to get his stock setup on my bird. some of us know how fun it is to install the damn egr tube. question: can i just cap off the egr bung on the manifold and the egr valve opening and keep the lines attached to the valve and drive away? this is mainly for driveability purposes. im not too worried about a CEL, as long as i can get to the storage place without the car dying on me.

yes, yes you can. You will most likely get a CEL and a crappy running car I have my EGR deleted, and it ran w/out a chip or anything. Just make sure it is blocked off properly to avoid a vacuum leak
