Ever done an oil pump in a 3.8

I haven't (yet LOL) this is my weekend project for a buddy of mine.
I have 3 questions.
1 where the frag is the pump is outside the pan or in the pan.
2 if it's in the pan how high do you have to raise the engine to get to it?
3 will a SC pump work on a non SC block?

The oil pump beleive it of not, is the same place where the oil Folter attaches, so it's outside the block, now when I did my SC's oil pump I did it with the motor out of the car, but it looks like with a LOT and I mean ALOT of time and care you could do it with the motor in the car, as for thew possibility of the SC oil Pump, I don't know, but I'm sure it's a yes, since I've accedentally received the wrong oil pump and it fit fine it just flowed a whole lot less... your best bet is a 94-95 SC oil pump if the do fit... they where and upgraded design the tried to make up for the lack of decent oiling in the 3.8's.

all 3.8 fords the same

All 3.8 Fords have the oil pumps built into the front cover. You can just buy a rebuild kit. It comes with new gears and some other stuff(its been a year and half since i did it). Be sure to prime the pump when you put it back on!! :-)
