Inject-tech chip?

Does anybody know where i can purchase a inject-tech chip that has the custom burn on it for the Lightning MAF for a 94 regular 3.8 Cougar?

All the same programming, the choice is yours. The LMAF might be a bit too much, a stock 70mm off a 96-97 would work just fine.

I was told before the 96-97 3.8 had the 70mm MAF. The earlier ones had 55mm. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.

For the tuning, Rodeo Joe is right on target. Any of that trio will do a great job for you.

As for the 70mm MAF, I have one in a box here, that I could sell to any of you 3.8 guys for dirt cheap, just send me a pm.

I have a 94 and mine is 70mm. I asked my uncle who is a cheif mechanic for a ford dealership, and he said that all T-birds and Cougars have had 70 mm MAF since ford started putting them on.

your uncle is almost right...

The 55mm unit was used in '89, '90 and some '91s

Must have been the SC because the 3.8 n/a didn't get a MAF until 91. Speaking of SC, any good news Justin?

No fantastic news yet. I have a possible buyer for the LX, a local Tccoa guy. I hope to have the new car in my posession, and in storage before christmas. It would make a nice gift.

Just a thought...

"My XR7 2004" If you really want to go for the larger MAF you can, but it is my understanding the stock MAF does not really act as much of a restriction on a relatively stock 3.8 MN12, and actually flows enough air for your current requirements. I believe the TB, further down the air intake line (along with the heads), acts as more of an air restrictor than the stock MAF. You may want to start there first (if you are considering half-shafting your TB check this link out and be careful http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?threadid=168). Someone correct me if I am wrong, please!

Eric,

That's what I was told by "The Man" about a year ago. The MAF on a 3.8 is not a restriction like it is on the 4.6, he told me he felt the LMAF was a bit much. On the TB, half shafting you'll flow more air....that's the whole idea behind it. To go to a larger TB I think the intake needs to be opened up, plus you'll need the mods like P+Ped heads and intakes plus a cam to make it all work.

the 89-93 had 55mm, the 94 up had 70mm. I believe the 89-93 sc had 55 also, but not sure.
