timing cover

Hey Guys,

I read in another thread that I didn't need to remove the oil pan to remove the front cover off the engine. Do I need to do anything about the two front oil-pan pins? Will the cover come off if I pull up off those?

Thanks in advance,
-wil

My 96' didn't have any pins or bolts between the oilpan and the front cover.

My '89 definately has them. Must be one of those design headaches they eventually got rid of. Regardless, the darn cover is being a bugger to come off. It seems to be stuck on there nice and solid. I'm giving up for today - the weather is too nice outside and I'm tired of cursing at my cougar.

Cheers,
