I would pul the motor and go with a 4.6.... but that's just me. Anywho, a good tune from blue oval chips will help you out, an make sure the car has a fresh tune up.

Stock 96 block with 04 gt heads & intake, 03 gt intake tube and MAF, along with a 180 deg stat and mild j mod...
Mandrel bent catless 2.25" true duals with dynomax super turbos
Vogtland .75" drop springs with sport / cobra shocks
XCAL2 with custom dyno tune
231hp, 280ftlb
Car is officially for sale... call me...

keep in mind the guy is in Finland, so the parts for a 4.6 swap probably aren't as plentiful

I think you're on the right track. Open up the exhaust, get a chip, maybe a shift kit, and some lower gears?

what kind of car?

first of all, you need to decide what type of project you're interested in building. then you need to keep logging on and catch up to the rest of us hahaha. then just keep working on it. it all depends on time and money ya know.
