Car wont start

97, 3.8L

The ignition lock cyl broke and now i replaced it and the car wont start. With the key out the dash lights and AC/heat will still run. I cut the wires for the Cruise control, and horn/airbags when i put a different steering wheel in. There is a pink/black wire that has a little C shaped plastic piece that sits under the lock and taht is in place other than that I havent messed with the wiring...Now the car just sits there and drains the battery....I dont understand how to fix this or what to look for. All fuses are good(checked under dash and in the engine bay. Any advice would be appreciated.

There is no coil on the fender wall. He has a 97 and the solenoid you speak of is mounted to the starter.

In the steering column there is a rod that moves forward and back when you turn the lock cylinder and moves a rod on the ingition switch, and this switch changes the different running modes of the car (i.e. ACC, Off, Start, Run). This rod is probably broken and unfortunately it is a PITA to fix. It's not really a fix but what you can do until you feel spiffy enough to fix the problem is drop the ingition switch and manually control the mode of the car. Under the steering column there is a box with 2 torx screw holding it in place. You may have to remove the steering column trim to access both screws but once you remove the screws, the switch will drop down and you can move the rod on the switch by hand.

LOL!

Sorry, it is rather funny about cutting wires and all. I hope you find the problem.
