4R70W Valvebody on AODE

I`m planning to upgrade my 94 AODE with 96-97 4R70W valvebody. What parts do i need to install the VB? Some kind of dowel kit? Will the old wire harness fit?

'94 Birds and Cougars came with the 4R70W from the factory so it will fit right in.

Yes you need the adapter pins to do this. Make sure to use your 94 tcc solenoid. Might want to replace the accumulators while you are in there.

F6AZ-7K720-A should be two of them. You also want the gasket for the newer VB

Might want to swap in a deep dish trans. pan while you've got the original off. It's a cheap enough upgrade.

Mods? Yea, I got mods ...

Tinman implied that it was a 94 4R70W, and I just wanted to point out that not everything had a 4R70W that year. Useless information and not helpful to the original poster who indeed posted it is for an AODE. Maybe he has signatures turned off, or figure that any post here would be for an MN12 ::shrug:: You can say he knows that there isn't any difference in 94 AODE and 4R70W, but didn't know that in 96 they changed the dowel pin size along with the VB.

I generally skip reading signatures. When he wrote "my '94 AODE" I assumed he meant in a '94 MN12 since he didn't mention a Mustang under his avatar. I figured that like most newbies he had misidentified his transmission.
He got the information he needed so it is no big deal.
