1994 4r70w into 96 bird

here's the story. got a 96 bird w 3.8 w auto. tranny is bad at 123,000. got hold of a 1994 4r70w w 40k. question is will it just bolt/plug into the 96?

As long as it is from another 3.8 powered Thunderbird/Cougar, then you should be fine. A 94 case is the worst, as is the torque converter.

You need to use the TCC solenoid from the 96 or you will fry the PCM! And as Bangster said you are going from a somewhat decent transmission to the worst possible one within the same family.

that's bad news that the 94 is trouble! hope to get 2 years out of this tranny, it's only got 43k on it.
