Decoding the trans ID tag Help!!

I have a 4R that's supposed to be from an '02 Mustang. I also have a copy of the title of the car that the transmission came from.

There is a 6 digit number on the transmission tag, are these numbers supposed to match the the last 6 digits of the VIN ? (like the engine block does)

I'm building a kit car and when it is inspected, they will be looking for numbers to match to verify none of the parts are stolen. If those serial number are supposed to match the vin and they don't, they could consider it stolen.

What I can't determine is if those are just tranny serial numbers or if they are tied to the vehicle VIN.

They are just serial and ID numbers for the Transmission itself .. no VIN numbers.
