Why would a tranny do this?

Ok look at my sig mods. My car under WOT will shift firm and crisp but at the top end it feels like the converter is locking and unlocking. Like if i have it in 2nd gear at 2,000rpm then go WOT it will feel loose, then locks, then unlocks at about 5,000rpm. Its hard to know whats going on and what i need to do to fix it.

sounds like the converter is locked/commanded to be locked in second.
When the 2-3 shift comes up, the converter has to unlock to complete the shift.

basicly that is what it's supposed/has to do...

If this feels different than before your car was tuned, it's likely due to the fact that the factory programming DIDN'T lock the converter in second gear <---common

Sounds like lock-up clutch is slipping to go along with the shuttering you said you were getting from it in another thread.....
