Adding a TCC lockup switch?

Can it be done on a 4R70W?

I've read that it requires 12v to activate then drops to 5v to hold, but what about the PCM? I also read about someone else who did this on a dodge ram and the computer would flash the OD light when it wanted to unlock the TCC, so he built a device that fooled the PCM into thinking it still had control.

Will the TCC only lock when OD is on?

I have done it. It is not exactly easy because if you just use one switch the od light will flash.
I ran 3 switches
one toggles lockup on and off
the second feeds 12v power to the pcm and the third basically arms the system I used it because it was a illuminated switch so I feed it 12v power then the light on it comes on when lockup is commanded and the switch is in the on position. Warning long term use can and will fry the lockup solenoid.

Would this device work to correctly fool the EEC-V instead of using 3 switches??

when you say it will eventually destroy it, are talking about feeding it 12v constantly, or any kind of manual activation will destroy it?

Making a device that provides a 12v charge then drops to 5v shouldn't be hard to make.

The possibilities are endless but the question becomes why. It is far better to let the computer do it. A stock converter will not handle instant apply very well and the rest of the car won't handle instant apply with a good converter. Did you watch my video?

I'm not actually doing it to my car. I want to add the switch to my engine stand, it may or may not get much use, but I just want to add the extra control just in case.

Cause I has nowhere else to put it and nothing else to do with it.

I also get bored easily and enjoy doing such things. At the moment because there is no practical use, and summer Boredom ensues this is what I'm doing.

I'd rather not let the engine sit for many years and not run, and it's a learning experience. I love to learn how things work.

Long story short... Fun is why I'm doing it.


That's the second time you've asked me that question and each time I have to smile and laugh a little when I imagine the look on your face as you as the question.
