Which trans ?94 cougar fluid type?

My v8 94 cougar transmission shifts great, but it is low in fluid. When at operating temp, it barely shows on the bottom of the stick. I was wandering if some of you guys could tell me what transmission is in it, what fluid to add to it, and about how much it would be low at that reading? Thanks in advance.

Thanks fenix. Do you happen to have an ideal of about how low it would be just reading at the very bottom of the stick?

Add 1/4-1/2 quart at a time. Wait at least 5 minutes before reading the fluid level again.

Based on your description, I'd say no more than a quart.

Send a message via Yahoo to dirtyd0g
Reading at the bottom of the stick cold is about a half quart, hot it could be 2 quarts.
