Jmod on a higher mileage transmission

Safe or no? Due to broken odometer gears I'm not sure how many miles are on this car. The odo reads 148000.I have put on I would guess another 6-8000. So lets just say the car might have 175000+ miles on it. The tranny shifts fine, no slipping, nothing unusual. Would I be alright doing the jmod to this transmission? Or should I wait until the transmission gets replaced?

Why not, it's your money! lol!

Not sure if you might need to change the fluid anyway. Update the pistons and springs, go with the mild setting and get the new style pan and filter.

It's not a 97 Sport, it just looks like one!

Go for it, it extends transmission life. A full flush, including valve body is 13 qts. New fluid always helps.

It'll reduce clutch wear, lower the temps and firm up the shifts.

Just did it to my 175k Mark VIII. Do it.

I was thinking of putting in a new filter and fluid here soon so I guess I could do this to mine as well.

Do it. The sooner the better, but it's hardly ever too late to do it. This is why I'm able to constantly beat on my 172,000 mile 4R70W with no issues.
