95 trans to a 96 car

Do I need to change or do anything for the 95 trans to function properly in the 96 car?

I think the only important difference is the TCC. Not sure if it is 1995 or 1996 that got the higher ohm one.

1996 got a revised valve body, not sure if it got different programming to deal with it or not.

And while this is external and easy to swap, you want to retain the 1996 filter and pan.

yes I kept the 96 filter and pan on it. I'm just wondering if I should swap the external electronics from the 96 tranny to the 95 one. doesn't seem to operate properly like the other one did before it got ruined.

You need to swap the TCC solenoid for sure like mentioned above.

The TCC is the small circle one .. right next to the two solenoid rectangle ( shift solenoids ) .. the largest circle solenoid is the EPC. Youre going to need to drop the pan to replace it, but if you dont it will fail, or burn up your PCM.

When you say your old trans got ruined ... how so ? Burned up ? Lost gears ? if you had dirty fluid, im hoping you flushed the radiator / cooler lines, or you may end up burning up the new one also.

wrong fluid from somewhere that sold it to me swearing "it was correct fluid" about 2 weeks later tranny locked up and was destroyed by it. and yes I took care of the radiator by just replacing it and flushing the lines out.
