Over Drive light flashes

Every time I turn my car on the o/d light flashes in my console... after a few seconds it goes away. Ive noticed my rpm's stay a little high after I let off the gas.

Time to put an OBD-II scanner on the port to get the code read.

You need a better (different) code reader then. My XCal-II shows transmission codes, as does my 8 dollar bluetooth adapter and Torque on my Android phone.

I'm not exactly 100 percent as to why it would flash however I do know the manual says that if it flashes. Then service the transmission a soon a possible or further damage may occur.

I agree, O/D light flashing is indicative of transmission issues.

Get the codes read by a better reader. Most issues that would cause it to flash at startup would not be solved by a fluid change. For 25 bucks minimum in fluid worth trying to get the codes because there will be one. Usually electronics related if not during driving.

Could be something with the tft fluid temp sender then you have another pan drop to fix it and another 25 bucks in fluid.

OD light flashing is an electrical fault. The trans will usually default to 2nd gear. I would be checking the wiring harness for any trans fluid in the connector or frayed wiring near the cross member.

I can almost guarantee that there is nothing fluid will fix. Check your electrical connections if it is flashing OD. You have a bad connection somewhere 80% chance, or you have a defective/dead/dying solenoid inside. A scan with a quality OBD2 scan tool will reveal what sensor(s) on the trans are throwing codes.

Maybe if 5 more people suggest the same exact thing.

OD light flashing WILL set a CEL, you just need to be able to read it, so try a different code reader.

Changing fluid will likely do nothing. If it needs changed, go for it. If whatever code you get requires it to be dropped to fix, then change it.

Like mentioned there are a few things you can check without dropping the pan, and even some that you can do without getting the codes read, but getting the applicable transmission code will stop the guess work. The car harness connector to the transmission, the MLPS.

Your one possible issue with the rpms hanging when letting off is a possible indicator, what happens when you lock out OD does it use Drive? Can you manually select second and have engine braking, does it is go to neutral or only engage in second when on the throttle?
