3.8 Transmission differences

Does anyone know of there are any difference between the 4R70W from a 96/97 3.8NA and one from a 94/95SC?

The 96/97 trans will have less clutch plates in the forward or direct, I forget which (both?), but they have all the maladies all the 94-95 4R70ws are notorious for. If you seek any out look for one from a 99-04 V6 Mustang, those are the strongest and most reliable 4R70ws with the Windsor bellhousing pattern.

The 99-04 will have better internals than the SC but the SC will have a A+ OD Servo and more clutches. Both can easily be add to any trans.

If all else fails get a bigger hammer!

Its only one extra clutch in the Direct pack. And the SC has the same OD servo as the V8 ... the A+ OD servo is an AOD part.
