Transmission Temp Guage

I have the trans rebuilt and working fine. I am thinking of adding a gauge to monitor the temperature. A couple of questions.
Is there a place that is ready to install the temperature sensor on the trans itself?
Also, what it the normal temp for one of the transmission to run??

A cheap/easy method is to add a drain plug to the pan, but replace the plug with the temp sender.

Fluid temps ~150-ish F are a happy spot.

When I had an automatic, I plumbed one in at the return line from the transmission cooler using a Tee fitting.
NOTE: even though most sensors are "one wire", if your T fitting where the transmission sender goes in is ungrounded (like it's not on a hard line but between two rubber hose segments), you will need to run a second wire to the base of the sender as a ground.
