Angry up on stands 95 cougar

Finally found what was thought to be a good 4r70w behind a 4.6L 99 marquis, finished installing this weekend after swapping all needed parts. left it up on stands and topped off fluid running thru the gears, thought all was good until it started sorta clicking in gear, forward or reverse. screwy thing is the alternator gauge and lights flicker when this happens.

instead of re-pinning the plug I installed the 95 wiring, solenoids and elps. wiring looked good and had no issues in other trans.
runs fine in park or neutral, any thoughts???

I'd bet there's a wire hitting the driveshaft or something; There's not enough drive on the selector wires from the EEC to make it affect the gauges/alternator, so something is shorting.

If it were the solenoid wires, it should blow a fuse to the eec.

The only real moving part there is the DS, so...

I'd crawl under there and look.
