new 4r70w

what is the general going price for a 4r70w, used or new? mine has 115,000 on it and with me starting to do mods, i am thinking on a new one. it feels fine most of the time, but from time to time their is a hesitation in a shift or shudder. i am going to fluch it next month, but wondered what a new one will cost. i have seen new ones on ebay for like 530$ so from some company. just weighing options. also is the PI stallion t/c a recomendation as well. figure if i do the trans here soon i might as well do the converter.

if you want a PI TC sign up for the group pruchase in the appropraite page. A new built 4R is 1595 from Dennis Reinhart. You can get a newer Mustang (98+) 4R from either Greenleaf Auto or a mustang forum for a good price. Maybe something like 500$.

I notice that you said you are going to flush the tranny. My question is why do you have to replace the fitting, when you remove the upper line from the radiator. What is the part no. for this fitting and can you buy it at any auto parts store or do you have to go to the dealer. Also does this have to be done when you replace the radiator.

thats how much i paid for mine. Mind you, I didnt have it shipped and drove to his shop to have it installed so i had no core charge. Also had it installed and got a Dynotech DS. Total came to 2573 and change. 4R, Driveshaft, 300$ labor, and 6.5% sales tax. In at 8am and out before 1pm, oh and 5$ for Sonic

i can do a lot cheaper...with my rebuilt one...only 60 miles on it. the shop is very reputable, gave me a one year warranty, and I have the invoice on everything they did. Replaced d*** near everything lol. Over 1300.00 on the invoice, not sure on the exact amount off the top of my head. The valve body has already been j-modded.

TC not included. But you can get a MK VIII from Max with a flexplate and nuts for 200.00 Higher stall. Thats what I did. Im putitng that in my mustang so Im not including it.

if you spent 1300$ for the trans according to the invoice, then 200$ for the TC and flexplate..then it isnt alot cheaper. Mine was 1595$ with the TC.
