1 more point for aod, 0 for 4r70w!!

just had my 8.8 w/3.73's installed this past wednesday. so far so good. don't know if anyone else noticed, but w/the higher gears, i was told that i would top out at 82mph w/out a chip. i tested that theory today....i had it up to 90 mph and it was still climbing. maybe because my aod is not electronic and the 4r70w is??

I don't know why someone told you that, as long as you use the correct speedo gear, the EEC would have no idea you changed gears, those old mechanical transmissions don't have an OSS. As for your other comments, when you are ready to make that thing stronger, you'll be putting 4R70W parts in it.
