AODE & 4R70W Use Same Filter?

Do the AODE & 4R70W use the same ATF filter?

Pearl White '96 T-Bird LX 4.6L SOHC (123k and counting)

Current Mods
Removed air silencer, U/D pulleys, K&N panel fiter, aux tranny cooler, JBL "10 Subwoofer /w cheapy 300 watt amp, Front and rear chrome license plate frames with clear plastic covers

Future Mods
Anything easy. I like my Bird just the way it is.

Yes, the only diffrence between the two is that the 4R70W has lower 1st and 2nd gear.

No, only 94-95 4R70W used the same filter as an AODE.

1996 Thunderbird LX- [email protected] NA
1998 GT - [email protected]
2001 Lightning - [email protected]
1996 GT 248A - [email protected]?
2011 GT - [email protected] 180 MPH at the Texas Mile

O. Well hum. I may have ordered the wrong filter, then.

This is the filter I ordered...



I have a '96 Bird.

Well, every time I go to get a filter from advance for my `96 3.8 or `98 Mark VIII it always says AODE on the computer screen. The first time this happend I asked them cross refrence this with a similar year mustang and it was the same part number.

I thought after a certian year the Mustange started getting the 4R70W also.

Difrrence between the 94-95 and 96-97 was the deeper pan right?
