2003 4r70w

I am in the process of preparing to install an 03 4R70W in my 95 SC and have already taken care of the obvious things that need to be changed over (shift lever, MLPS, TCC solenoid, VSS, OSS) and am also doing the forced rear lube, and last but not least the speedcal so my speedometer will be correct. I would like to know since this trans appears to have all of the latest goodies inside how much if any of the J-mod is recomended, I have been reading all of the tech info but it for the most part seems to apply to the 94-97 models. Advice from the experts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Charles

What is the tranny out of that it will bolt to your 3.8? Does it even have a VSS?

3.8 Mustang and yes it has the gear machined in the output shaft for the speedo gear to be driven from although the 03 Mustang does not use a VSS as the hole in the rear housing came with a plug installed from the factory.

I believe that you would just remove the lower 1-2 accumulator spring, the 2-3 accumulator spring, and drill the separator plate to desired HP settings. Some of the holes will aready be the correct size or bigger. I don't know what it effects, but the 03 should have an 8 tooth drive gear for the VSS where your 95 had 7.
