4r70w confirmation.

Ok folks, I just want to confirm what I've been reading before I spend my money. Now keep in mind I'm doing this as cheap as possible cause the '94 is only my beater.

I've got a chance to pick up a low mileage 4r70w from a '99 3.8 mustang for my '94 LX for $300.

Since the TC in the '94 is garbage, will the TC in the mustang bolt right up to the '94 flex plate? or do I need to grab the mustang's flex plate or what.... this is about the only part I'm not clear in, as everything I have read seems to point to the 4.6 motor and no one has mentioned anything about the 3.8.

Also, since I'm slapping in an 8.8 trac loc from an SC with 3.27 gears, I will need the purple speedo gear to fit into the new tranny right?

Use the mustang converter your flexplate is fine, do not use the mustang flexplate the balance is incorrect for your engine. The 21 tooth purple speedo gear is correct with 3.27 gears and an 8 tooth output shaft. Make sure to change out the tcc solenoid.
