Another Mark VIII driveshaft question.

How do I tell that the driveshaft that I am looking at is a 93 Mark VIII vice another year? I found a wrecking yard that says he has two of them but I want to make sure I am getting the right one.

pretty sure the two-piece ones will clearly be two pieces welded together

Here's a picture DanU posted a long time ago. It shows the
color code for the one piece shaft. If you're lucky, maybe
you'll still be able to see those three bands on the ones
in the bone yard.

Good luck,

thanks MagerThon,...but does the two piece d/s

have a three color bands too?? because if so i screwed because i am color blind like a dog. Also as a far as the two pieces welded together did not seem clear to me? I was under the impression that the two piece type was a tube in a tube???? So any more clearification would help me,....but thanks for the inputs so far

This is what you want... The color doesn't matter as I pulled mine out of a 93 Mark and the color stripe it has are different. The two piece shaft has a small gap approx 6-8 inches up from the rear yoke. The one piece is welded at that area.

They are links offsite from 2002. Not all websites from 2002 exist today.

look at the rear yoke area, if there is a gap in the shaft its the two piece.

if its solid from one end to the other its a one peice.

howa about posting a pic of the shaft you are looking at?
need to see the last two feet of the rear of the shaft
