correct speedo gear?

Maybe this should be in transmission, but it's a result of my gear change so I've posted it here. I need help in finding out what speedometer gear to get for my car. 1995 Cougar 4.6, stock rear gear is 3.27. I'm installing a 4.10. I've searched and read, but I'm still confused. Can anyone help me?

This works very well; just put in what you have, and get the closest gear.

The tire size is the hardest thing to look up.

Thanks for the link, that shows I need a 22 tooth gear, that link only shows a 21 available. I'll have to do some more searching, does anyone know if there is a 22 tooth gear available?

You'll need a SpeedCal to properly run 4.10 gears.

Swap

I'll be swapping a 3.27 TL in place of the non fuctional TL 2.73 in my 92. S.C..

Is it a requirement to use speedcal for the swap with a five speed?

I may do like I did in the 60's and up into 80's drive by the tach.

I know I'll need the 21 tooth/7 tooth trans gear for the speedometer.

No you need a 19 unless you have short tires. 21 with a 7 tooth will be correct for 3.73's
