3.73 and then some

im going to go with 3.73 gears i want to get a aluminum driveshaft or a mark 8 driveshaft kinda confused there, i here some people use the 99-01 cobra differential where could i find a 99-01 diferential if this fits on my thunderbird,then i believe i should get a trak-loc assembly advice is appreciate

It will probably be easier to find a Mark VIII pumkin.
IIRC all Mark VIIIs had the aluminum differential housing.

Mark VIII's were never trac-loc. Look for the cobra unit. the 93 (only) Mark VIII driveshaft is a one piece shaft. Other years are 2 piece and known for vibration. You can do a lot of shoping @ www.car-part.com

the scp aluminum driveshaft aint one piece??? is the mark 8 driveshaft aluminum??

Ken is correct. No Mark VIIIs had trac-loc.

You can use a '99 Cobra differential.
It was the only year to use 28 spline.
Good luck finding one.

I recommend the after-market driveshaft over the '93 Mark VIII driveshaft.

I also recommend you replace your transmission mount with a soild rubber unit
and your differential bushings with some polyurethane bushings.

You will also need a new speedo gear (purple 21 tooth).

thanks alot but u can get a trak lok on scp i think for the mark 8 differential sry still trying learn about performance so im kinda new to some of this stuff

im going to go with the aftermarket driveshaft the 3.73 gears
try to find a mark 8 pumpkin andget a trak lok
should be a small amount of weight removal on my car to with the mark 8 pumpkin

i appreciate the advice thanks alot
