gears in a mark8

a friend of mine is insisting that i switch gears next to some 3.27's. with other "better than mine" parts coming from lincoln mark8s, i was wondering, what gears are in the mark?

9mm Spark Plug Wires
MSD Ignition Coils
Mac Cold Air Package
Hypertech Programmed
Magnaflow Mufflers
Clear Corners
Sandblasting any aluminum parts i can get to without removing the engine
SCP 3.5" Cowl hood
and of course, PAINT!!!

actually my car is a 96 bird, but i think you just answered my question. so how do i find out which of the two a particular JY mark has?

can't find em at summit or jcw for some reason. only finding a full rebuild kit.

higher numbers mean more power off the line right? i don't want some quarter mile monster.

higher number means more wheel torque multiplication in ALL transmission gears....so with numerically higher gear ratios, you get more acceleration in all trans gears, without so much as actually increasing power.....power and torque are related, but not identical quantities, so you can't interchange the wording

what about mustangs? local yard has a new edge (not sure of the year) cobra that had an engine fire.

lol. lookin right now, just getting alot of crap about swapping ford diffs into a jeep and other people's how to's. helpful but obviously not what i'm looking for just yet.

Some of the late model explorers got the 3.73's in a tow package. The problem is, is that this is not a cheap project anyway you do it. you still need to have your rear end rebuilt which costs $$$.
