Pulling to the Right

Hello all,

Sorry for the newb question, but I cannot find the answer anywhere.

Anyhow, my friend and I recently installed a T-Bird Trac-lok in his Lincoln LS. Everything seemed to be fine - actually mounts perfectly, and when hitting the gas in the snow, both tires go, but the car still kicks out to the right quite a bit. Having never had a LSD rear end until my new AWD car, is this natural, or should he be a bit concerned about the installation?

Some side notes, he did not want to rebuild the LSD (clutches, etc), add the F150 "S" spring, or even shim to the proper preload; however, he did replace the side bearings. He used royal purple diff fluid with friction modifier already included.

I know all this should have been done prior to installation, but when he does this right, should he expect the car to still pull quite a bit, or do you think the problems will go away?

First off a Lincoln ls does not use and 8.8 rear so what are u talking about car wise second even with limited slip it just pulls both tires but it's gonna kick the rear end out to one side or the other or back and fourth fish telling

In my experience, the fishtailing is worse with traction lock Keeping the car straight while one of the rear tires is spinning is easy, but when both of them are going, you will get some serious fishtailing. I think he needs snow chains now

I know it doesn't have the 8.8, but that doesn't mean the Traction-lock unit didn't fit. I'll see if we have any pictures, but we just took an old SC apart for the Traction-lock unit. It has been done before on the LS, so it isn't anything truly revolutionary. I was just curious if it would still tend to pull more to one side than another after he rebuilds it, as he said it pulls quite a bit. I have AWD on my car, and had open diffs on both my cougars, so I was wondering what to expect. . .
