Im doubtful

Ok so i was just watching Gearz on Speed. I havent looked for this so sorry if its a repost. But they are doing a miata 5.0 swap and claiming 400 hp and torque running thru a t5 and out into a 7.5 bird IRS rearend. They were sure tho to replace the half shafts tho. Anyone seen this and comment???

They have to be using a good carrier, that was the weakness.

shud be pretty easy to replace with an 8.8 if it does break.there again i doubt a miata will weigh anything close to a mn12 so that 7.5 may be ok .....who knows

Hey Alan, my boss has been saving a 7.5" Trak-Loc carrier forever at the shop. How can we tell if it's the "good carrier" or not? A friend of ours gave it to us (I actually thought it was an 8.8" until we got it back to the shop and I compared it and saw the difference).

OEM all suck. The only thing I will run in a 7.5 is a detroit tru trac. Not many places make them.
