any oil recommendations - TCCoA Forums

any oil recommendations

swapping my 4.10 posi into my new car, any recommendations on a readily available oil for it, how much do I need, and does it recquire an additive for the trac-lok (if so what and how much)

I used some Valvoline synthetic on mine recently to top off, and it had the friction modifier in it.

First recommendation : A synthetic if you can.

Second: If it doesn't specify it has the friction modifier for limited slip diffs, then yes, you'll need the additive.

Past that, I suggest your favorite. I mean, I'd have LOVED to use Royal Purple, and it wasn't that much, but they didn't have any when I found out I couldn't feel any with my finger in the fill/check hole.

*shrug* My lube came in a plastic jug that fits good enough to get started topping off, no funnel needed. I just clipped the end off the spout, shoved it into the fill hole, and started squeezing.
