3.31 ?

well my father was out looking around the local salvage yards and found an 8.8 irs with the 3.31 ratio on the tag... i see that was supposed to come in turbo coupes and SC? i thought the SC all came with traclocks, and wouldn't it be 3l31 if it was a locker?

Trying to find IRS infomation on the "Turbo Coupes" will be a daunting task as they were NEVER produced that way, 7.5" series "live" axles were used in 1986 and earlier, TC's produced in '87-88 used the 8.8" live version. Only the '89 & up birds/cougars/mark viii had a IRS for the rear, but no mn12 was a factory "Turbo Coupe.

Only the 94/95 Automatic SC's came with the 3.31 open diff ( traction control aka ABS, those wires are for the speed sensors on ABS cars), 89-93 automatics had 3.27 and available with Trac-Lok.
