Aluminum Driveshaft

To get a Mark VIII driveshaft to work in a 95 Tbird, does it have to be a 93 Mark VIII? Or can it also be a 92? Or are there any other year models that will work? I want to know so I can ask my local salvage yards? Thanks, Blazz

if you want the 'right' one...you want a '93 Lincoln Mark VIII drive shaft. It is one piece, aluminum.

i am not sure about pre '93...but those AFTER '93 (possibly a few early '94's) have 2 pc. driveshafts. this would make the swap pointless, as you already have a 2 pc. driveshaft.

hence, look for a driveshaft from a '93 Mark VIII. make sure it's balanced properly and not damaged (salvage yard hunting).

....

just wanted to ask you a question about your signature....what's w/ the "natural born losers?" comment? Are the people w/ drag cars that use NOS losers?
Yes i know it's nitrous...but most people call it NOS, even before 'the fast and the furious,'...people have used it for a long time as well...might not have called it NOS..but it's been used for a while.

just ask WWII fighter pilots.

NOS

The supply of WW2 fighter pilots in my area is rapidly diminishing, but I personally have nothing against nitrous oxide, but the problem I do have is these punks in their rice burners that think they are untouchable b/c they have it. What I am trying to say is, they think they are so bad, but w/o the help of a bottle, they would be just another 4banger w/ unsightly, oversized wings, and ridiclously loud, chainsaw sounding exhaust. I like the movie "The Fast and the Furious" , but look at what it has started, or glorified. It is a conspiracy of the foreign auto makers to brainwash our youth into thinking American Cars, are no good. I am 100% USA all the way, I don't think the Japs should even be allowed in the US after what they did to us in Pearl Harbor, let alone sell us their damn cars. And in the end, it was the Japs who learned what American Muscle was about. That is why they have been out to get us since. You, go ask any WW2 veteran that. I will be glad to modify my signature since you pointed that out, and thanks for the heads up on the driveshaft. Blaze

you know

sometimes when i am asked a question, I am brutally honest. I apologize if anyone is offended by what I said. But the movie industry has to be getting paid big bucks to glorify the foriegn cars. Blazzy Train

I am gonna have to disagree with you on that point, the reason American cars aren’t real popular with my age group ( I am 21) is that most of us cannot afford them, and more correctly the insurance on them, Since I Bought my '95 Cobra in '99 I have been paying between $480 and $470 a month. Between '99 and '01 that's almost 1/2 of what I was making......Shoot I am still paying $280 a month, now that I am 21 and yes I do have a clean driving record.( and these are the cheapest rates I can find). Most of the cars that are the favorite of the "Import" crowd are pretty cheap to insure, A Civic to insure for me would be about $100 to $125, thats a lot of speed parts in three years.
Just my 2 cents

that is my point

That is why the foreign auto makers put the 4 bangers in their cars, so our youth can afford the insurance! I bet this thread will be closed by the end of the day, I think I have opened the doorway to "THE VOID". LOL.Blazz

If you think what the Japanese did to America is bad, look at China. They raped and pillaged women and CHILDREN. The Japanese Samaurai also convinced little boys that eating the semen of a Samaurai will in turn, make them a Samaurai. Well, the Japanese do some nutty stuff, like Dance Dance Revolution and virtual dating games where you in turn, rape the date. They also have blind fold sex games and they also invented the digital pet crazy. Yes, they do some nutty stuff, but without their influence in our country, technology would be set back a bit.

you are right

I, with head hanging, agree w/ you on that point. The japs are good for something other than .......nevermind, I agree about the technology point. I shudder to think how many parts of my car are made in Japan. Blazzy Train
