Question driveshaft compatability

I have a ballanced 93 mark 8 drive shaft, and intended to put it in my 96 sport, direct swap, right? Sure, but what about other years and transmissions? I'm thinking of picking up 93 for a stripped down road race car project. I think I'm out of the modular game until I start making alot more money. Now, I plan on swapping in a T5 or comperable transmission (t5 being the cheapest.) I know of a 5.0 93 courgar that did it, and was able to retain his stock drive shaft.
my question? Will the 93 drive shaft work with the T5 in a 93? If not, what's different, the lenth? the spline? or both?
Thanks in advance.
