2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 laps Laguna Seca - Click above to watch video after the jump

The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 configurator has gone live, and if you're not ready to plunk down the cash (real or imaginary) for one just yet, we have just the video to help convince you that the $40,000+ you need to spend will be worth it. Motor Trend has taken the Boss 302 for a spin around Laguna Seca, and the lap time is very impressive.

What does that mean exactly? Well, owners of the Ford Mustang GT500, BMW M3 and even the Audi R8 should be very nervous if a Boss 302 shows up at the track. Click past the jump to see what we're talking about. Thanks for tipping like a Boss, Brian!

Ill take it!

I love my V8, but I'd love it more if all 8 cylinders worked. (they do now)

My T-bird is like George Jetson's wife, you try to give her a little money, she takes the whole wallet.

I have to say I'm really impressed... the Viper ACR holds the record at 1:33... It costs 98k dollars so. But I'd like to know a little more about the setup they used on that car. I know it's factory but what tires did it have on it? What are the brakes and such. I'm just curious.

I am just wondering because i really don't know. I was looking at a gt 302 at the dealership. I notice on the window sticker that it says the transmission is manufactured in china. Is this component going to be reliable? and what type of transmission is it?
