History
This specimen I purchased in April 2014 to take over the role of the DD from the 94 Cougar which was starting to rust in such a way that potentially impacted collision safety. The engine was replaced with a NOS, off-the-line '94 engine after the original spun a rod bearing at 186,500. The transmission was replaced with one from a 165,000 mile 97 MN12 at 204,000 due to intermittent 4th gear issues, and rocker/lower door rust was worked on at 205,000. The car again visited the body shop for a hit-and-run dent repair along with some minor surface rust repair in March, 2017. Unfortunately the vehicle was rear-ended and totaled in April of 2018 with 255,500 miles.
